Phoenix police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning near 10th and Sunland avenues that injured a man who later died at a hospital.
Multiple homes and vehicles also were stuck by gunfire during what police said was "a large house party."
A police call came in just before 1:15 a.m. Nov. 26 to report the shooting, police said. When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital where he died.
“As other officers were arriving in the area, they saw a vehicle driving away at high rate of speed from the scene. They were able to stop the vehicle and detained multiple people inside,” a Phoenix Police Department release stated.
“Officers were later directed to a home that hosted a large house party. Officers were told the suspects involved in the shooting were at the party just prior to the shooting.”
Detectives responded and discovered several vehicles and homes were struck by gunfire. No other injuries were reported.
Detectives are continuing to investigate. No arrests have been made.
