Phoenix Sky Harbor: Memorial Day means make plans for travel

INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
The summer travel season begins this weekend with Memorial Day, and after seeing the busiest first quarter in its history Phoenix Sky Harbor is anticipating a robust travel season as temperatures climb.
And airport officials remind travelers that it’s not only terminals and runways that will be busy but also the roads leading to Sky Harbor. They provided these tips:
Plan for parking. Reserve it in advance.
Packing bags. Know what can and cannot go in a carry-on bag. Prohibited items result in checkpoint delays.
Arrive early. IDomestic travelers should get to the airport two hours before flights, three hours for international travel.
Reduce security checkpoint time. The PHX RESERVE program allows travelers to save a space and reduce the wait. The program is open to travelers of any airline.
PHX Sky Train stations. These pick-up and drop-off spots help avoid terminal curb congestion and roadway traffic. The 44th Street and the 24th Street stations flank the airport, and the 44th Street station provides access to Valley Metro rail.
Avoid circling the terminals. Cell phone lots are east of Terminal 4, west of the west economy garage and at the 44th Street PHX Sky Train station.
