Phoenix officials eye further growth of social work internship program

The city of Phoenix has grown its social work internship program in recent years, and some city council members encouraged further growth this week.

Students seeking a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University began taking internships with the city in 2002. Later Grand Canyon University students joined the internship program and the city’s Human Services and Fire departments joined in taking interns.
