A 19-year-old has been arrested as the suspect in the 2023 slaying of a man who was shot while walking home in the 1400 block of East Baseline Road, Phoenix police said Saturday.
Exzavion Williams was booked into jail May 22 in connection with the murder and armed robbery of Jeremiaha Austin, police said.
In February 2023, detectives began investigating the homicide, which occurred at night near 14th Street and Baseline Road. They found Austin with a gunshot wound. He died later at a hospital.
While at the scene, officers learned the victim had been walking home with a family member when he was shot by an unknown suspect who left the area, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
