PHOENIX — The community showed up in a big way as Swizzle Inn hosted a charity golf tournament at Palo Verde Golf Course in Phoenix on Saturday, April 25 raising $6,670 for Maggie’s Place.

Seventy-two golfers signed up to play at Palo Verde Golf Course in Phoenix to raise money, while additional community members donated to the cause directly at the bar.

Funds raised will support Maggie’s Place, a Phoenix nonprofit that provides safe housing and a supportive community for homeless pregnant women, along with services designed to help them achieve stability for themselves and their children.

“Seeing the community rally around this cause is incredible,” stated Annie Gaillard, general manager of Swizzle Inn in a news release. “This fundraiser would not have been possible without every golfer, every donor, and every person who stopped by to support Maggie’s Place.”

Gaillard said Maggie’s Place was selected because of the organization’s mission to help women transform their lives during difficult circumstances.

“Maggie’s Place goes beyond providing shelter,” Gaillard stated. “They create a supportive environment that gives women the opportunity to rebuild, gain confidence, and create a better future for themselves and their babies. That is something we are proud to support.”

Swizzle Inn has served uptown Phoenix since opening in 1996 and is known as a longtime neighborhood gathering place with year-round Christmas lights, strong drinks and a welcoming atmosphere.
