Two tickets – one in Phoenix and another in Cave Creek – were big winners in Monday night’s Powerball drawing.
But the major jackpot was not hit and is estimated to be $653 million for the Wednesday, Feb. 1, drawing.
Two tickets were announced by the lottery as $100,000 winners. They were purchased at a Circle K, 4815 E. Carefree Highway, Phoenix, and the Safeway at 29834 N. Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek.
Each player added the Powerplay to double their $50,000 prizes, Arizona Lottery officials said.
If someone hits the Wednesday night jackpot, it would be the eighth-largest score in Powerball history, according to the lottery.
