Pedestrian dies at scene of McDowell Road collision

A woman died Thursday night in a car-pedestrian collision near 52nd Avenue and McDowell Road.

The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. March 21, and police said initial information is that the unidentified woman was walking midblock on McDowell when she was hit by a car headed west.

The Phoenix Fire Department provided emergency treatment, but the woman died at the scene.

The driver of the car showed no signs of intoxication, police said.
