O’Connor girls volleyball starts its greatest challenge Thursday night.
While the Eagles start as the No. 2 seed and can get to the state final by winning three straight home games, the 6A Conference is deep – maybe to the unprecedented degree. For example, Phoenix Xavier and Tempe Corona del Sol played in the last two state title games and are seeded No. 6 and No. 9, respectively this year.
To put together a 16-1 regular season record and 29-3 overall record – good for a No. 17 national ranking by MaxPreps – the Eagles have embraced competition whenever they step on the court.
