Nourish PHX raises over $85K

Nourish Phoenix, a food and clothing bank fighting poverty in the Valley since 1983, raised nearly $85,000 during its seventh annual Beyond the Pantry event this month.

The funds will help complete the organization’s new Wellness & Skill Center, expanding access to free classes, entrepreneurship programs and health offerings.

Through the center, NourishPHX plans to introduce additional exercise classes, meditation and mindfulness workshops, and other programs centered on stress relief, mental health and overall well-being.

Hosted at Anderson Hall at St. Francis Xavier on Tuesday, Oct. 13, Beyond the Pantry highlighted the organization’s work over the past year, honored volunteers and celebrated clients.

NourishPHX serves more than 25,000 people each year. Beyond providing food and clothing, the organization offers a place for community members to take a break from everyday stress, connect with resources and leave feeling better equipped to care for themselves and their families.
