The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation is hoping the seven Colorado River states can reach a new agreement on how to share the river’s water by Saturday.
Three days ahead of that Feb. 14 deadline, Valley water officials are not optimistic.
“No one is expecting that there is going to be an agreement, and no one knows what the federal government will do on Feb. 15,” Warren Tenney, executive director of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association, told the group’s management board during its meeting Wednesday.
