Eva Diaz, a Democrat, is an Arizona native who has taught in three area elementary school districts and has held positions such as assistant principal at the Isaac Elementary School District and principal at Avondale Elementary School District., according to her website.
She has been "part of the Red for Ed movement of the Arizona Education Association which began an aggressive fight for public education" in the state, her website stated. Steve Robinson, a Republican, is a native Arizonan who "wants to strengthen our families by working to increase job opportunities, improve the failing school system and reduce" taxes, according to his website.
"...I've seen our communities in a steady decline for several years," Robinson stated on a video on his website. "Our streets are not safe for our children. There is drug use in plain sight and needles and glass in the parks. Crime is growing at an alarming rate."
Leezah Sun, a Democrat, resigned from the Arizona House in January 2024 following the release of an ethics report, her Wikipedia page stated.
According to her Facebook page, she is in favor of clean energy and water regulations to help "secure a sustainable" future.
Sun is also against the recent restrictions the Arizona Supreme Court ruled on regarding the subject of abortion.
"I’m deeply angered by the Arizona Supreme Court’s recent decision to enact the state’s Civil War-era total ban on abortion," Sun said in a recent Facebook post. "This moment highlights the urgent need to change our Legislature in the November 2024 elections.The foundation of women’s rights is bodily autonomy, and we cannot and will not remain silent as these essential freedoms are under attack."
