Man dies in hit and run collision in west Phoenix

A 44-year-old man was hit and killed Wednesday in west Phoenix, Phoenix Police said in a press release Thursday.

Officers responded to the area of 63rd Avenue and McDowell Road about 7:35 p.m. April 1, for a call involving a collision with a pedestrian. When officers arrived on scene, they located a man, later identified as Michael Arvallo, who was unresponsive, according to a release.

The Phoenix Fire Department was called on scene and pronounced Arvallo dead.
