A local Phoenix veteran will be receiving a bathroom remodel to make access and mobility easier for him.
As part of the 10th annual Baths for the Brave initiative, Army veteran Craig Pellingra will receive the new bathroom through Jacuzzi Bath Remodel on Nov. 11.
In 1996, Pellingra was critically injured when an IED hit his vehicle. Pellingra was given a Purple Heart medal, but his recovery meant many years of surgeries and rehabilitation. Pellingra had to have both shoulders replaced, a shattered ankle repaired, and his entire spine from the Thoracic down either replaced or reinforced.
