The Arizona State Fair returns to Phoenix next month, and one of the Valley’s most familiar bands is coming home with it.
The Gin Blossoms have a history with the Arizona State Fair stretching back more than three decades. The Tempe-born band played Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the fair on Oct. 31, 1994, then returned Nov. 5, 1995, for a particularly Arizona-heavy bill with fellow Tempe bands The Refreshments and Dead Hot Workshop. The Gin Blossoms were back at the fair on Oct. 21, 1996, and later returned in 2002 and 2017.
Their Friday, Oct. 2, appearance this year will mark at least their sixth performance at the fair.
