Gilbert officials are working on plans for the Gilbert Regional Park’s next phases with an aim to transform the park into a premier regional destination with amenities catering to a wide range of interests and abilities.
Robert Carmona, director of Gilbert’s Parks and Recreation Department, emphasized the importance of designing a park that reflects the community’s needs and desires. He said the community loves the park.
“I can guarantee you there's two questions we always get asked,” Carmona said. “Why did you stop building? Everyone's under the impression we just told the construction teams to go home. And the next one is, when are you starting again?”
