Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels hosts festival for childhood cancer families

Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels will have its Family Fun Festival from 12–3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels Comfort and Care Center, 340 E. Coronado Road, Suite 100, Phoenix.

This free event is for families impacted by childhood cancer or any life-threatening illness. All AHRA warriors and their families are invited, but space is limited so registration is required.

The afternoon will be full of food, crafts, games and other activities with some of AHRA’s favorite companies and organizations from the local community.

“As a Mom who experienced the day-in and day-out struggles of a child with cancer, I understand and acknowledge the need to create the ‘most best day’ for the cancer warrior and their family,” said AHRA founder and CEO Lorraine Tallman. “It’s not only the child with cancer who suffers during this difficult time, but the entire family including siblings. Our Family Fun Festival gives all the participating children and families golden memories which they can cherish for their lifetime.”

Sponsors such as Right Honda, CBRE, Emerge, Plumbrite and RM Interiors will be at this year’s event.

For companies interested in participating in Family Fun Festival, a $100 tax deductible donation gives the company a six-foot-long table with four chairs, drinks and snacks for attendees and advertisement on AHRA social media, but most significantly, the participating company’s employees interact with AHRA warriors and their families.

Participating companies are asked to provide a STEM or craft for 100 children (or AHRA can supply the craft for an additional fee), plus three to five people to work at the table.
