Brian Ong will be stepping into the role of training coordinator after retiring from Glendale Police Department. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having served as a police officer for 33 years, with 20 years of specialized expertise in defensive tactics and impact weapons, according to the Town Manager’s Weekly Update.
“We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber join our team,” the newsletter stated.
Ong holds several notable certifications, including Master Bola Wrap Instructor, CPR/AED Level II instructor, KRAV Maga instructor, tactical driving instructor, High-Risk Stops, and Defensive tactics, among others. His extensive knowledge and experience will be invaluable in elevating PVPD’s training program.
When Ong is not sharing his expertise, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, including his wife of 33 years, son and daughter, along with her husband and their two kids. Additionally, he finds relaxation at his cabin in Young, Ariz. According to his wife, he has a passion for collecting cars, guns and indulging in cooking channels on YouTube.
