Ishan Bagai, of Paradise Valley, was one of five students recently awarded the Nobel Good Earth Sustainability Scholarship, given by National Society of High School Scholars. This award recognizes students who actively share their dedication to conservation, sustainability, environmental policy and preservation of the Earth.
In 2022, Ishan and his brother developed LetsRideKids, an app that changes the way families transport their children to school and extracurricular activities. It connects families who plan to drive the same route and are willing to share the journey. By choosing carpooling through LetsRideKids, families and communities can actively reduce harmful emissions and help combat climate change – and build stronger community ties, creating a more welcoming environment for children. Ishan’s app is currently being used by multiple schools throughout the Phoenix area.
NSHSS, the organization that awarded Ishan the scholarship, is an honors and scholarship program co-founded by Claes Nobel and James Lewis. It offers a lifetime of benefits, pairing the highest performing students worldwide with high school and college scholarships, events, connections, internships, and career opportunities.
