The Save the Spire committee spent the summer refining plans to give Paradise Valley’s historic spire a permanent home at the town’s municipal complex, incorporating feedback from Town Council and staff ahead of a Sept. 10 check-in.
The committee, made up of town residents, architects, engineers, preservationists and other volunteers, is working on plans for the 92-foot spire that once stood atop Ascension Lutheran Church.
With the group's proposed plans the spire will sit at roughly 78-feet tall plus a 6-foot tall base at the Town Hall Municipal Complex in an effort to preserve the spire while also taking into account some council members concerns about the height of the historical piece, according to Save the Spire member and Vice Mayor Christine Labelle.
