Paradise Valley Police Chief Freeman Carney presented information about electric bicycles to the Paradise Valley Town Council during an Oct. 8 study session.
He explained the differences between e-bikes and electric motorcycles, reviewed e-bike-related incidents reported in Paradise Valley during the past two years and discussed safety measures other municipalities have taken.
E-bikes can encourage children to spend time outdoors with their families, as previous generations did, and do more activities away from screens, something many people say they want for today's youth, Carney said.
