Pappas’ home recognized as historic property in Town of Paradise Valley

John Pappas received an official proclamation from Paradise Valley Town Council and a bronze plaque to mount on the newly recognized historic property.

John Pappas purchased 6330 East McDonald Drive in 2009 and in 2017, he worked with architect Gene Kniaz to restore the original character of this home.

In the interior, the original tongue and groove wood deck and beam ceiling in the living room was revealed and retained along with a wrought iron handrail for an inside staircase that is again in use.

This Spanish Colonial Revival home with touches of Pueblo Revival architecture was designed and constructed in 1930 by Robert Evans, Duncan MacDonald and Neil H. Gates.

John Pappas’ home at 6330 East McDonald Drive is now recognized by the Historical Advisory Committee as an historic property in the Town of Paradise Valley.

Committee Chair Catherine Kauffman presented her recommendation to Paradise Valley Town Council March 14.

In 2018, the council created the Historic Property Recognition Program to allow property owners to voluntarily apply to the Historical Advisory Committee to have their homes recognized for unique historical or architectural character.
