Help Support the Caregivers Who Help Our Community

Posted

Every day, direct care workers provide essential support to older adults, people with disabilities who depend on assistance to remain safe and living in their own homes. These dedicated workers often drive to multiple clients each day, making transportation and gasoline a significant personal expense.

The Agency on Aging, Region One is asking its’ community to consider directing their eligible tax credit contribution to support these essential workers.

Your contribution can help the Area Agency on Aging provide gas cards to direct care workers who travel to deliver care in our communities. A gas card may seem like a small gesture, but for a caregiver facing the high cost of gasoline, it can make a meaningful difference.

Direct care workers cannot provide care unless they can get to the people who need them. Many depend on their personal vehicles to travel from home to client appointments, sometimes covering considerable distances each week. At the same time, many direct care workers earn modest wages while performing physically demanding work.

Your tax credit contribution can help ease one of the everyday costs of doing this important job.

The Area Agency on Aging believes our community can make a difference by investing in the people who care for our neighbors.

Help us support the caregivers who show up for our community every day. Give your tax credit contribution to the Area Agency on Aging and help provide gas cards to direct care workers.

The 2026 Tax Credit for married taxpayers filing jointly is up to $1,009 and up to $506 for taxpayers who are single, married filing separately or head of household.
