For the past three years, Desert Mountain football has been a dynamic team. Since head coach Conrad Hamiton took over after 2019, they had three straight winning record seasons.
Last year they went 9-2 and lost to Centennial 24-3 in the first round of the 2023 AIA State Football Championship Open Division tournament. Desert Mountain was the only non-6A to make the eight-team open division playoffs.
This season MaxPreps ranks the Wolves 19th in the state of Arizona and for the 5A Conference they’re ranked fourth. Everything was clicking for the Wolves prior, but now they’re facing a transition period.
