Bierman Autism Center, 8444 North 90th Street, Suite 130, in Scottsdale, is hosting a trunk-or-treat — a free, sensory-friendly outdoor event where kids can move through decorated trunks, play simple games, and get their face painted, all at their own pace — 10 a.m. to noon, Oct. 24.
Costumes are welcome, but so is showing up exactly as a child feels most comfortable, according to a press release.
This event is designed for children with autism and other developmental needs, while welcoming siblings, caregivers, and the broader community. Families can expect a calm, predictable morning with the flexibility many children need to feel at ease in new experiences.
“Trunk-or-treat is about making sure every child gets to experience the fun of Halloween,” Christina Gallagher, executive vice president of client intake and growth at Bierman Autism Centers, said in the release. “Watching a child walk through the trunks at their own pace, play a game, get their face painted—that’s what this is about. We want families in our communities to have a place where they can come, feel comfortable, and enjoy the morning.”
