Medina Station sign plan approved by Mesa board

A permit recently was approved for a comprehensive sign plan for the 46-acre Medina Station at the southeast corner of Southern Avenue and Signal Butte Road in Mesa.

The Mesa Board of Adjustment on Jan. 7 voted 5-0 on a consent agenda with other items to approve the comprehensive sign plan special-use permit. Board member Gerson Barrera was absent.

The zoning on the site, which is under construction, is limited commercial with a planned area development overlay. A large commercial development with associated uses are permitted in the limited commercial district, Staff Planner Cassidy Welch said during a study session prior to the meeting.
