Litchfield offers ‘treecycling’ drop-off for X-mas tree disposal

Posted

Christmas has come and gone, and it’s now the time of year where folks are looking to dispose of their decaying Douglas’ and perishing pines.

But since a curbside pick-up option is not available to Litchfield Park residents, the city has set up a designated spot for folks to “treecycle” their live Christmas trees.

The drop-off site will be east of Litchfield Park City Hall, 214 W. Wigwam Blvd. Signs will mark the exact location.

The city has requested all ornaments and garland be removed prior to drop off, and tress should not be placed in plastic bags. Potted trees will not be accepted.

Residents can drop off trees from now through Jan. 10.
