The city of Goodyear has released its 2024 Water Quality Report, confirming that its drinking water meets all federal and state safety standards and highlighting efforts to ensure a reliable supply amid growing demand and desert climate challenges.
The annual Consumer Confidence Report, now available at goodyearaz.gov/waterreport, includes results from hundreds of tests conducted across the city’s water treatment plants and distribution system. The report provides transparency for residents and outlines where the city’s water comes from, how it is treated, and whether any contaminants exceeded regulatory limits.
Goodyear Water Services Director Barbara Chappell said the report reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to public health and water quality.
“We take great pride in delivering high-quality, reliable water to our customers every day,” said Chappell. “Our team is dedicated to around-the-clock monitoring and uses advanced treatment technologies to ensure the water we provide is safe and meets the highest standards.”
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has given Goodyear’s water sources a “low risk” designation, indicating that most source protection measures are already in place or that the area's natural hydrogeology limits contamination risks.
The report also emphasizes Goodyear’s broader approach to water stewardship. Beyond water quality, the city continues to invest in long-term water management through:
Expanding water reuse and recharge programs to replenish underground aquifers
Building new infrastructure, including treatment plants and groundwater wells
Promoting conservation through resident outreach and incentive programs
Partnering regionally to secure and manage sustainable water sources
City officials say these efforts aim to balance growth with sustainability and protect future water supplies.
