Emergency responders serving Goodyear and surrounding West Valley communities are expected to benefit from a recent joint training aimed at improving coordination during critical medical emergencies.
Native Air 23, an air medical provider based in Goodyear, conducted an advanced airway management training course for the Gila Bend Fire Department.
Native Air said the training was part of its outreach efforts to support regional first responders. Training focused on emergency airway interventions for infants, children and adults and was designed for emergency medical technicians and paramedics.
Native Air officials said the training was intended to improve coordination between ground emergency crews and air medical teams, which often work together on highway incidents, rural rescues and other high-acuity calls affecting the West Valley.
Gila Bend Fire Department officials said the joint training allowed crews to better understand each other’s equipment and roles, with the goal of reducing time on scene and improving patient care.
