Construction on a new traffic roundabout at Litchfield Road and Brinton Avenue is scheduled to begin in early March, the City of Litchfield Park announced.
The project is expected to run through August. Traffic will remain open during construction, though lane shifts will occur as work progresses.
From March through May, crews will build the west side of the roundabout. Initial work will take place off the roadway, with traffic shifting to the east side of Litchfield Road to one lane in each direction in late March.
Construction will move to the east side of the roundabout from May through July, with traffic shifted to the west side of the road and reduced to one lane in each direction.
Final paving, striping and landscaping are planned for July through August, with additional traffic shifts possible during that phase.
Most work will take place during weekday daytime hours, excluding major holidays. Beginning in mid-May, crews may start work as early as 5 a.m. Resident and emergency access will be maintained throughout the project.
City officials said the roundabout is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements and asked residents for patience during construction.
