Posted

The Agua Fria High School District is hiring across multiple departments and will hold walk-in interviews every Thursday in February and March, district officials announced.

Interviews will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. at the AFHSD District Office, 1481 N. Eliseo Felix Jr. Way in Avondale. Openings include positions in administration, certified secondary education, athletics and coaching, student support services, food services, transportation and campus security.

District officials reported more than 70 open positions across its campuses, including Agua Fria, Desert Edge, Millennium, Verrado, Valley Vista and Goodyear high schools, as well as online and alternative education programs.

Starting salaries for certified teachers with a bachelor’s degree are listed at $47,150, with higher starting pay for advanced degrees. The district said new hires may receive credit for up to 12 years of prior experience. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits that include health coverage, retirement through the Arizona State Retirement System and paid leave.

Additional income opportunities may be available for teachers through extracurricular assignments, coaching and tutoring, depending on campus needs.
