Chandler Council OKs annual pavement maintenance contract

There were only 11 items on the consent agenda for Chandler City Council’s May 8 meeting, including a $17.3 million, one-year contract with M.R. Tanner Development and Construction for street maintenance repaving, surface seal and repair services. The contract was OKed when council unanimously approved the consent agenda at that meeting.
The Chandler City Council approved a fairly large dollar-figure annual contract at its May 8 regular meeting as part of one of its smallest number of agenda items in recent memory.
There were only 11 items on the consent agendas for both the May 5 study session and the May 8 regular meeting. Those items included a $17.3 million, one-year contract with M.R. Tanner Development and Construction for street maintenance repaving, surface seal and repair services.
No council members asked for any of the 11 items to be pulled for discussion at either the study or at the regular meeting.
Council is approaching the end of the fiscal year. Fiscal 2025 runs July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
Council is set to tentatively adopt its fiscal 2026 budget at a May 22 meeting, hold a public hearing and complete final adoption of the budget on June 12 and adopt its annual primary property tax rate and take fee action on June 26.
