A group of West Valley police offices are joining together in an effort to save lives on the state’s roads by creating a West Valley Speed and Aggressive Driver Task Force from March 13 through July 31.
The agencies are launching a “Safe Speeds Save Lives” traffic enforcement campaign to focus on enforcing Arizona’s speed and aggressive driver laws.
Authorities said despite widespread efforts to educate drivers about the importance of safe speeds, motor vehicle collisions continue to be the leading cause of death and serious injuries in Arizona.
The “Safe Speeds Save Lives” campaign will deliver high-visibility traffic enforcement with a zero-tolerance approach towards speeding and aggressive driving.
Participating agencies include the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and police departments in Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Goodyear, Peoria and Surprise.
