The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has welcomed three new members: Mark Stewart representing District 1, Kate Brophy McGee for District 3, and Debbie Lesko for District 4. They join Chairman Thomas Galvin of District 2 and Supervisor Steve Gallardo of District 5 on the five-member board.

Lesko, who began her term in January 2025 after winning the November 2024 election, succeeds Clint Hickman, a Litchfield Park resident who served for over a decade. District 4 includes Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Phoenix, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, and Wickenburg.

Before joining the Board of Supervisors, Lesko served as the U.S. representative for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District from 2018 to 2025. During her time in Congress, she served on several key committees, including Energy and Commerce, Judiciary, and Homeland Security, and held leadership roles on the Republican Whip team and the Republican Steering Committee.

Lesko’s political career also includes nine years in the Arizona Legislature, where she served three years in the Arizona Senate, including a term as Senate president pro tempore and chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Lesko holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and resides in Peoria with her husband. They have three children and six grandchildren.
