Father-daughter team gets to the HeART of 1960s Goodyear

Adam and Addison Turner expected to paint through mid-December

Adam and Addison Turner, a father-daughter team painting the HeART of Goodyear’s 1960s mural at Goodyear Community Park were drawn to the decade for several reasons.

“I was born in the 60s,” Mr. Turner said as he and 18-year-old Addison worked on their 5- by 6-foot fiberglass heart Nov. 21. “Addie is a peacemaker. She’s all about peace. She was drawn to Martin Luther King Jr.”

Both also were drawn to the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron, which held winter training at Naval Air Station, Litchfield Park (now Phoenix Goodyear Airport), from 1963 to 1966.
