Tempe nonprofit helps sexual abuse, trafficking victims to share their stories

The following story contains discussions of trafficking and sexual assault.

Sparky Fletcher grew up in a small town in Texas and when she was 13 years old, her life changed forever.

While walking home from school one day, Sparky was pulled off the street by strangers and taken to be sex trafficked. Though she was eventually returned to her family, the experience stayed with her for a lifetime, and it wasn’t until 50 years later that she felt comfortable enough to talk about what happened.
