Suicide prevention presentation educates individuals at Sun City West church

Group hosts suicide awareness speaker, aims for more education

A Sun City West resident experienced the loss of two fellow church members to suicide, which prompted him to get involved and help raise awareness at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church.

Jeff Nelson has been living in Sun City West since 2015 and said at his previous church they endured a tragic loss to suicide.

“I talked to Julie (Killebrew, health education facilitator) and asked her if we could bring a suicide awareness program to Shepherd of the Hills,” he said.
