Phoenix Children’s debuts Da Vinci Xi surgical robot in Glendale

On May 21, medical professionals and philanthropists gathered at Phoenix Children’s Hospital – Arrowhead Campus in Glendale to “meet” Sophia, the new Intuitive Da Vinci Xi surgical system that surgeons will use to perform complex, minimally invasive procedures for children and adolescents.

The event was led by John R. Nickens IV, President and CEO of Phoenix Children’s, Dr. Michael Nguyen, a pediatric urologist and director of robotic surgery at Phoenix Children’s, and Dr. Ramin Jamshidi, a pediatric surgeon leading pediatric robotic general and thoracic surgery.

They were joined by members of PCH50, whose mission is to harness the enthusiasm of 50 community leaders as the next generation supporters of Phoenix Children’s through fundraising, volunteer efforts and awareness building.
