Peoria Unified candidate withdraws name from ballot

Comes after West Valley Republican challenges her signatures

A Peoria Unified School District governing board candidate has withdrawn her name from the race after a West Valley Republican challenged the validity of her signatures in court.

Eileen Mueller, a former West Valley precinct chair, filed an election challenge last month claiming candidate Natalee Sticht had insufficient signatures to qualify for the ballot.

The claim stated some signatures were from people who were not qualified electors, or not registered to vote in the electoral district of the candidate.
