Peoria Unified board to discuss budget override bond measure at next board meeting

With the November general election looming, Peoria Unified School District governing board and staff during their Sept. 24 meeting will discuss the district’s current fiscal reality and additional reductions that would be necessary should Proposition 428 fail.

Proposition 428 is asking voters who live within Peoria Unified's boundaries to support a 13% maintenance and operations budget override that would fund people and programs within the district.

Discussion will cover the budget reductions implemented to date. Officials say the presentation is intended to provide the governing board and community with a clear understanding of the potential fiscal and operational impacts and the difficult decisions that may be required.
