New Sun Valley-Glendale campus targeting fall opening

Posted

The Morrison Education Group broke ground on its new Sun Valley Academy-Glendale campus, which will welcome its first students this fall.

Sun Valley Academy-Glendale is a Title 1 tuition-free K-8 public charter school and will be the third campus opened by Morrison Education Group. The Glendale campus, located at the corner of 83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road, will feature 59,000 square feet in one building, including classrooms, a multi-purpose room, outdoor playground and a sports field.

Morrison Education Group founded its Sun Valley Academy in 2009 with its flagship campus in South Phoenix. An Avondale campus opened in 2020 and those two campuses serve 1,000 K-8 students with a tuition-free education. Sun Valley Academy also offers kinder-ready preschool at all campuses.

The Glendale groundbreaking drew Diamondbacks legend and World Series hero Luis Gonzales as a guest speaker.

The Glendale campus was designed by Carhuff + Cueva Architects and will be built by Willmeng Construction.
