Before any corporate visitors settle into their Super Bowl seats, their first impression of Glendale and the West Valley will be when their plane touches down.
The last time Glendale hosted the Super Bowl, in 2015, the city-owned municipal airport serviced more than 170 arriving flights. The city expects that number to exceed 200 this weekend, with the first anticipated corporate flights to start arriving Thursday at the airport located less than three miles west of State Farm Stadium.
The festivities started early Thursday morning with the debut of an immersive experience for those visitors. After deplaning and making their way through the Glendale Aero Services building, guests will walk through a space dedicated to HD screens displaying the city’s amenities as well as the expected party decor, from Chiefs and Eagles swag to a selfie station to a literal red carpet leading out from the airport.
