Christmas cards are being sent around the nation featuring the artwork of Heather Cameron, a resident of Life Care Center of North Glendale, 13620 N. 55th Ave., Glendale.

Ms. Cameron recently took first place in Life Care Centers of America’s annual Christmas card designing contest. The company invites residents in more than 200 nursing and rehab facilities to submit card designs, and one piece is chosen for each of the organization’s geographical divisions. A total of eight designs are printed and distributed to facilities and regional offices throughout Life Care.

Her painting of a snowy winter scene is this year’s winner for Life Care’s Southwest Division, covering its centers in Arizona, California, Nevada and New Mexico. She was inspired by a favorite song, “O Starry Night,” when she painted the design.

“I like being out in the forest, and I remembered that image, and it seemed like a nice Christmas scene from the past,” Ms. Cameron stated.

She was born and raised in Phoenix and had a career as a bookkeeper.

Call activity director Michelle Jim at 602-843-8433 for information about the Christmas cards.

Life Care Center of North Glendale is one of 10 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Arizona managed by Life Care Centers of America.
