Glendale public hearing approaching on 2 development projects

Posted

The Glendale City Council will host a public hearing on two upcoming development projects.

Up first will be a request by Matt Telban on behalf of Shea Homes, representing Emrland LLLP, to rezone approximately 120 acres from R-16 (single residence) to R-16 PRD (single residence planned residential development) to allow for 425 single family residential subdivision on the site of Rovey Farms/Legacy Place.

The Rovey family has laid down a farming presence in the West Valley for more than 60 years, and is now working to lay down its legacy in the form of the new master-planned development near Northern and 83rd avenues that will cover both Peoria and Glendale, and nearly 350 acres.

The property is located in Glendale on the southwest and southeast corner of Northern Avenue and 75th Avenue in the Yucca and Ocotillo districts.

Also up for discussion will be a request by city of Glendale on behalf of Emrland LLLP and Ferrantino Enterprises AZ LLC to rezone approximately 161.4 acres from A-1 (agricultural), BP (business park), and PAD (planned area development) to the PAD zoning district. The PAD zoning will allow for a mix-use development titled Vision 2.

The site is located south of Glendale Avenue, and west of the Loop 101 and is in the Yucca District.

The meeting takes place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 in the Council Chambers, 5850 W. Glendale Ave.

Copies of all applications, exhibits and documents are available for public review at the Development Services Department, 5850 W. Glendale Ave., second floor, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, or will be available online here after 6 p.m. the Friday prior to the public meeting.
