Glendale Police charge woman who killed 1 in car crash into house with murder

The Glendale Police made an arrest  on the fatal accident that took place in the 6500 block of West Wahalla Lane on Nov. 10, 2024.

Glendale Police arrested 22-year-old Celeste La Sean Downer at noon Tuesday, Feb. 4. She is facing several charges to include second degree murder and and endangerment.

Homeowner Amanda Rogers was critically injured when a car plowed into her home. The car hit the house while traveling 37 mph.

According to Glendale Police Downer had two passengers in the car, a 24-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy. According to court documents, one of the passengers got out and found a small child under debris next to the car.

The passenger picked up the child unhurt and found the child’s father nearby.

Rogers was pinned under the car and died from her injuries a week later.

According to Glendale Police, she had a BAC of .124
