Glendale picks Civic Center Annex for Velma Teague collection

Building could be temporary home for a year

Glendale’s Velma Teague Library branch has a new temporary home, and at this point it looks like the Glendale Civic Center Annex will be home well into 2027.

Community Services Director Kimberly Hall gave a presentation during the Sept. 8 City Council workshop, saying Velma Teague programming resumed Aug. 24 in the annex at 5752 W. Glenn Drive.

The area available is about 10,000 square feet of the annex and crews renovated its electrical system and roof in the last five years. Velma Teague’s collection and PC terminals should reopen in the annex within 90 days.
