Glendale Midwestern to host 5K for animal rescues, student scholarships

Midwestern University's Glendale campus will be the site of the Pup Strut 5K Walk/Run this weekend.

The Pup Strut is an annual fundraising event sponsored by the university's College of Veterinary Medicine and the Midwestern chapter of the Omega Tau Sigma veterinary fraternity. The event features a 5-kilometer walk and run around the university's campus.

Event check-in is 7-9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, on the Glendale campus at 19555 N. 59th Ave. The race begins at 9 a.m.

Entry fees are $30 for adults and participants over 12 years old; $10 for kids between 5 and 11 years old; and $5 for canines. Proceeds from the event will go to local animal rescue groups and CVM student scholarships.

Participants will receive a T-shirt and a dog goodie bag with their entry.
