Ensign Fausto Anaya, a native of Glendale, recently participated in Exercise MILAN 2024 while serving the U.S. Navy aboard USS Halsey in the Bay of Bengal.

Anaya graduated from Greenway High School in 2019.  Anay graduated from Arizona State University in 2023.

The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Glendale,

"Growing up, my family taught me the values of kindness and helping people when they are in need," stated Anaya in a press release. "These lessons have helped me as a leader. I take pride in helping my people and showing them kindness when times are hard."

Anaya joined the Navy one year ago.

With 90% of global commerce traveling by sea and access to the internet relying on the security of undersea fiber optic cables, Navy officials continue to emphasize that the prosperity of the United States is directly linked to recruiting and retaining talented people.

“We will earn and reinforce the trust and confidence of the American people every day,” stated Adm. Lisa Franchetti, chief of naval operations. “Together we will deliver the Navy the nation needs.”
