Attention West Valley cornhole players: a tournament will be in Glendale this weekend, and for a good cause.
The Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni of Glendale Cornhole Tournament goes from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 in downtown Glendale at Horny Toad, 6729 N. 57th Drive.
The tourney will feature a computer generated round robin with proceeds from registration and raffles going to support the Glendale Police Department’s Dignitary Protection Team as they prepare for several upcoming mega events in Glendale such as Super Bowl LVII, the Fiesta Bowl and the Final Four.
Registration will run through 11 a.m. on Saturday. Bags will be in the air by noon.
Registration fees include tournament entry for your two-person team, lunches and a pair of raffle tickets. Lunch is provided by The Horny Toad Glendale and includes your choice of the Big Fat Burger, Impossible Burger, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, or BLT served with fries and choice of a fountain drink or iced tea.
The tournament is limited to the first 32 teams to register.
