The new board of directors represents a cross-section of business and professional leadership in the community, a press release explains.

The following individuals have been newly elected: Dr. Tiffany Hernandez, Glendale Community College president; Victoria Franks, assistant vice president of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Midwestern University; and Dr. Alexander Patrick, director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Residential Faculty, Social Sciences at Glendale Community College.

Dr. Jennifer Cruz, Pendergast Elementary School District superintendent, has been named chair-elect for 2025. Lisa Baker, of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, will officially take over as the 2024 chair of the board at the February meeting.

The 2024 executive committee consists of Baker; Cruz; Lynda Vescio, immediate past chair, Law Offices of Vescio & Seifert, P.C.; Scott Spillman, treasurer, BNC National Bank; Ron Castro, vice-treasurer, BNC National Bank; and Jim Peyton, interim president & CEO, Glendale Chamber of Commerce.

Others continuing to serve on the board include Maria R. Brunner, past chair, Credit Union West; Kate Kochenderfer, past chair, SRP; Bobbi Magdaleno, Arizona State University; Mary Pritchard, Pritchard Insurance Group; Richard Sherry, Dignity Health Arizona; Matt Slatus, Camelback Ranch-Glendale; Yvonne Knaack, former vice mayor, and Kiwanis of Glendale; Jessica Perry, APS; Marci Aguayo, Global Credit Union; Brian Capistran, Glendale Union High School District; Scott Spurgeon, West-MEC; and Kelli List Wells, Charley’s Bar & Grill.

“It is truly an honor to have such a dynamic board of directors from a diversified segment of our business community helping to lead the way and drive prosperity for Glendale and the West Valley,” Interim President & CEO of the Glendale Chamber Jim Peyton stated.
