Due to its walkable proximity to the stadium and this year’s NCAA Men's Final Four, Westgate Entertainment District will play host to ESPN’s famed College GameDay on April 6 and 8.
Exact show times to be announced next week but are slated for Saturday afternoon and Monday evening ahead of the games.
ESPN will be broadcasting live before both game days at Westgate’s Fountain Park, 9401 W Westgate Blvd., Glendale. The first tipoff of the two semifinals is at 3:09 p.m. April 6 and the national title game is slated to tip off at 6:20 p.m. April 8.
Eventgoers can stop by to be part of the live audience and catch up with the latest insights, analysis and predictions from the experts.
“We are thoroughly excited to partner with ESPN during Final Four weekend in Glendale,” stated Jessica Kubicki, director of marketing for YAM Properties. “Glendale has built a reputation as a big event host. Big events bring big events and Westgate will be no exception to that on April 6 and 8. In addition to ESPN’s live broadcasts, we will have fan festivities for ticketholders and non-ticketholders alike, from an explosion of food and drink options to interactive experiences.”
Westgate’s WaterDance Plaza, 6751 N Sunset Blvd., will be the site of a designated “fan zone,” where guests can immerse themselves in the spirit of college basketball with interactive fan activities, photo ops and giveaways.
That includes a live graffiti artist personalizing basketballs for a limited number of guests and STUDEX’s piercing tent, which will be replete with hoops, basketballs, water coolers, ball carts, sports bottles and locker stalls, all to help emulate a real locker room atmosphere for college basketball fans.
Guests also can shoot their shot, making swishes to win a free ear piercing.
Just Sports in Westgate will sell top team merch with three locations spread across the entertainment district. Additionally, guests can patronize Westgate also features a wide range of restaurants and specialty experiences including axe throwing, escape rooms, bowling, mini golf and arcades.
Westgate’s parking lots will have a charge for parking during set windows throughout the weekend. Parking details are as follows:
Friday, April 5 – $30/vehicle charge from 5–10 p.m.
Saturday, April 6 – $50/vehicle charge from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, April 7 – Free parking all day
Monday, April 8 – $50/vehicle charge from 1–8 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to beat any traffic and review Westgate’s Code of Conduct before attending this event. Westgate does not allow guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages or to tailgate in the parking lots.
